Alloclassic® - Design Rationale
Superior long-term stability.
The design of the Alloclassic hip stem allows for reliable stability immediately after the surgery and for years to come. Primary stability both proximally and distally is obtained with a press-fit by the corners and sides of the implant, where it is anchored by cortical bone. Maximum stability is achieved despite the low implant volume. The biomechanics of the stem also contribute to stability. Forces are transmitted from the implant to the bone in a broad and even manner. Excellent primary stability, physiological load transfer and biocompatibility of the Alloclassic’s grit blasted surface ensure rapid and lasting fixation of the stem.
- The Alloclassic SL is a conical straightstem with a rectangular cross-section.
- Manufactured from forged titanium, the biocompatible high-performance titanium alloy especially designed for medical use by Zimmer.
- Clinically proven grit-blasted surface(4-6µ) for lasting fixation.
- 14 stem sizes for virtually any size and shape of femur.
- More than 20 years of experience and well documented results.
- Compatible with Zimmer Converge Acetabular System.
The Alloclassic stem is an excellent choice when implanting innovative new technologies such as Metasul metal-on-metal acetabular inserts, as well as Durasul highly cross-linked polyethylene acetabular inserts.
Revision Stem
The Alloclassic SLL revision stem features the same proven properties and performance as the primary stem, with enhancements for revision surgery. Twenty percent longer distally which compensates for acetabular defects or poor bone quality. The neck is four millimeters longer, providing optimized articulation with existing ball heads. Proximal portion of the stem is identical to primary stem. There are nine stem sizes available, from size 3 to 11.
