Zimmer South Africa nominated for three prestigious marketing awards!

ZIMMER SOUTH AFRICA has been nominated in three categories of the Sunday Times Business Times Marketing Excellence Awards for 2008: Marketing Organisation of the Year; Steven Orange, Country Manager of Zimmer South Africa, for Marketing Person of the Year; and Eurika Goosen, Events and Marketing Manager of Zimmer South Africa, for Rising Star of the Year.

The awards are designed to recognise South African achievements in marketing, rewarding those who successfully carry out marketing campaigns that marry image objectives, innovation, and creativity to significant returns on investment and bottom-line results.

The awards are adjudicated by a business council, including many leaders in the industry, such as Sir Paul Judge, a marketing luminary from the United Kingdom. The Chairperson of the Council for 2008 is Dr Ivan May. The criteria for the Marketing Person of the Year and Rising Star of the Year are the same: the award has been split into these two categories to recognise both a marketer with an established track record and a marketer who exhibits the characteristics necessary to become a future Marketing Person of the Year.

The criteria are weighted and based on organisational contribution, impact, and professional contribution (such as giving back to the business and the profession, and continuous professional development).

The Marketing Organisation of the Year Award is also based on three criteria: marketing strategy development, execution, and results.

In order to ensure that the results are transparent and maintain a high level of integrity, auditing firm Deloitte & Touche have been retained to oversee the entire process. The awards will be presented on 17 February 2009 at the Sandton Convention Centre. We wish Zimmer South Africa, Steven and Eurika the very best of luck!
